Hello
I have a small question, we are going to start a multiple location based hotspot system, Few locations will be far away from our Wifi signal range, so instead of installing the antennas we will use local wimax internet modems with APs to connect to our central database for authentication and user's roaming. Now the questions are below.
1. How do we connect the APs to our central database? We are going to use DLink AP2100 on each location with wimax modems, should we give the radius server's IP and info in AP to access the central database?
2. Do we need to install computers on every location with APs ? or simple wimax/dsl internet connection with the AP will be okey?
I am not that technical guy, so your brief reply would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ali. |

No, you don't need RADIUS server nor to install computer in every location. You can setup Scenario 3, see http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/topologies.html for more information.
And yes, I believe you do need someone with good networking skill get it running correctly for the actual deployment. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
