Hi,
I currently have a customer that is wanting a wireless solution. Their situation is; they are a large business centre, with several public areas, inc. Cafe, Meeting Rooms, Board Rooms etc. They are wanting a solution so that when visitors visit the centre they can purchase for a small fee basic internet time or if they have business visitors using the centre they can simply give them some sort of airtime card for say an hours usage.

My questions currently are:

1.)Will this solution work for my customer??

2.) Can the usage time be defined? or is it predefined for you already.
I.e. a user of the meeting room can have 3 hours so we define it for them for 3 hours etc.??

3.) If this was to work for us what versions would I need and how much does it cost??

4.)Will it work on a Lan running VLANs. (as the individual units are all going to be segregated).

1) Yes. You can use the Prepaid card feature within FirstSpot. It is under Users -> QuickAdd or Bulk Account creation.

2) Yes. Go to Users -> Conditions to suspend this account, either you use When airtime credit is used up (which will only count login time) or At a specific date and time (more a day-pass/hour-pass model)

3) You probably want Advanced Edition (see point 4 below). Refer to http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/editions.html for details.

4) If you want each client to separate from each other, you can use our Client Isolation feature. Refer to chapter 3 of firstspot_guide.pdf for more information.
