Post subject: Session Question

We are looking at the Advanced product to use in our residence halls. Is it possible to only make users log in once or maybe once a month? I think that our users would be cranky if they had to log in every time they wanted to get on the net. Is this possible?

You can:

1) use "Passive Login" so that your customer will be automatically logged in. The prerequisite is that you need to know the client MAC or IP in advance.

or

2) set the "idle timeout" value to really high, so that the client won't be disconnected periodically.

You might want to check out firstspot_guide.pdf about the above-mentioned features.
