Post subject: Xbox 360 tech help

I was wondering how to get xbox live to work without doing an anonymous passthrough, we added the Xbox mac address to client-passthrough, We recieve an IP for it, but it fails at DNS, It recieves it but it fails on the xbox side. not stating exactly what the problem is.
We just recently installed captive portal and was working before we installed captive portal, is there any that we might have missed, Or is it just not possible to have xbox live work on the "input username and password" login authentication.

In other words, We dont have passive logon, Can we just put the Xbox 360 mac's into client passthrough(this is what we have setup) it is not working at this time, we recieve an IP but the DNS fails. We are trying to figure it out as quickly as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can use Client Pass-through. Note that none of the user attributes will apply to Client Pass-through though.

You need to browser if you want to use captive portal (I don't think xbox got a browser).

Also, DNS issue is different. It is unrelated to whether you use Client Pass-through or Passive Login.

So since xbox's dont have browsers they wont work? even with client-passthrough. If your software is based on browser requirements, is there a possible work around?

Client Pass-through and Passive Login will work without browser.

Note that changing Client Pass-through entry will require FirstSpot restart.
