return traffic bypass FirstSpot

ive wired my network as model below:

disabled the nat on firstspot
and i would like to bypass firstspot on client downstream.

where can i find a guide on how to config the external router to bypass firstspot and i would like to know if there is any specific router that you recommend to work with?

Almost all routers will work, since all you need to setup the static route in a correct manner.

Its just simple routing.

Lets make an example on FirstSpot_Scenario3b:

We pretend routers ip as:

Router [8]: 12.12.1.1
Router [7]: 12.12.2.1
Router [2]: 12.12.3.1
FirstSpot [3]: 12.12.4.1
Router [6]: 12.12.5.1

So the routing has to be:

Router [8]: has network 12.12.1.x for himself and has a route to everything else over 12.12.3.1

Router [7]: has network 12.12.2.x for himself and has a route to everything else over 12.12.3.1

Router [2]: has network 12.12.3.x for himself, has a route to 12.12.1.x over 12.12.1.1, a route to 12.12.2.x over 12.12.2.x and to everithing else over 12.12.4.1

Firstspot sends everything to external router 12.12.6.1 because this is his gateway!

So the traffic will leave over the firstspot!

Router [6]: has network 12.12.5.x for himself, has a route to 12.12.1.x over 12.12.3.1, a route to 12.12.2.x over 12.12.3.1 and everithing else over his gateway [5] in the internet.

So if nat is turned off on the firstspot the traffic will return directly back to the client.

Sample ... Client 12.12.1.2 calls a website the route will go:

12.12.1.2 --> 12.12.1.1 --> 12.12.3.1 --> 12.12.4.1 --> 12.12.5.1 --> INTERNET --> 12.12.5.1 --> 12.12.3.1 --> 12.12.1.1 --> 12.12.1.2

I have simplified things a little bit ... but thats it!

sorry for the ignorance but right now im testing firstspot under an isp network untill i will pass it to the company and my external router works under PPPOE protocol so the isp bind me an dynamic ip and everytime in totally different range so how can i set in the routing table the gateway if it always changes? i tried to use 0.0.0.0 but it force me to specify the address

hi,

me think i don't really understand your question.

Any normal router will get his default gateway on his own from your isp so you do not have to configure it. You just have to add the routes back to your other routers and that will not change till you do not want to.
Any normal discount router when you connect it to the internet, lets say to a ADSL he will get an IP from your ISP an will set his default gateway to the gateway given from the ISP-DHCP. Any traffic from behind that router will then be NATed thru this router to the isp and out in the internet. The router than needs the ability to give him custom routes for some networks and there you add the routes to your internaly configured devices and networks.

If you have some other strange connection behaviors, the only possibility i see is to add some auto config scripts to your router but therefor it has to be some good configurable router (maybe some linux).
