ver 3.0 changes and multiple segments question

-What are the planned changes for ver 3.0 and will current purchasers of 2.11 get a free upgrade?

-Can someone please elaborate (or point me to a discussion) on what the Multiple Segments feature within the Advanced version is. I think I understand but would like some more detailed clarification:
example: With multiple segments, can I utilize a few different and separate internet connections from different locations (like neighboring businesses) and have them all point to my 1 main server for access (possibly creating a revenue share for that business)?

There are many new features in v3. One of key one is RADIUS support. Customer with valid maintanence contract can enjoy free upgrade to v3.

For scenerio 3 and if you have several remote hotspots and 1 FirstSpot centralizied server, you need to either:

1) have control routing path (e.g. you are an ISP and you have leased line)
2) setup some kind of tunnel between Hotspot and the FirstSpot server (this is quite complex)
