SETUP of network

HI,

Just installed the trial version of First Spot. And I need help setting it up. Here is a layout of my network

PC1 with dlink USB 200 ADSL Modem (192.168.1.1)
PC2
NIC #1 (IP: 192.168.1.2 DNS & Gateway: 192.168.1.1)
NIC #2 (IP: 10.1.1.1)
Dlink DWL-2000ap+ Access Pont (IP: 192.168.0.50)

PC1 has ICS running with a switch between PC1 and PC2 NIC 1 and a crossover cable from PC2 NIC #2 to the DWL-2000AP+ The AP has dhcp disabled.

1) Do I have to run this program at the gateway if not can I run it on PC#2.

2) Does my AP needs to be statically configured and if so, what IP address.

3) can it run on and behind the ICS machine

4) is my modem compatable?

1) You should run FirstSpot in PC2. Note that you should select NIC#1 as Public Network Interface and select NIC#2 as Private Network Interface Interface during setup.

2) Note that the AP IP is for administration only. You can setup the IP as either static or DHCP. See http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=578 for more discussion on setting up AP.

3,4) FirstSpot cannot be run the ICS machine (i.e. PC1). Again, it should be run on PC2.

OK, I have setup Firstspot on PC2 (of course as I have 2 NICS)

do I have to bridge both nics together?

No. FirstSpot will do it automatically.
