Post subject: Redirected URL Duplication

FirstSpot 3.1.2

When a user types in a URL and then logs in FirstSpot duplicates the URL in the browser like this:

http://www.yahoo.comhttp://www.yahoo.com

Any ideas why?

Regards
John

That is strange. It might be browser add-on like Yahoo Companion or Google Toolbar that causes the problem.

Also, what is the exact URL that the user types? What browser are you using?

Can you try to delete all the Cookies and Temporary Internet files in the client PC IE, and try it again?

At the top of the "Welcome to our Hotspot" screen the URL is:

http://10.20.7.1:5788/login_form.php?&desturl=http%3A%2F%2Fuk.yahoo.comhttp%3A%2F%2Fuk.yahoo.com%2F&patronsoft1=336008202&patronsoft2=191552428838912

All in one line, of course.

You can see the yahoo url repeated in the second line as
.....comhttp.....

We are unable to reproduce your problem so far. What will happen if you enter URL other than Yahoo?

No. Enough for now.

I will re-load the whole PC and start from scratch because this one has had much messing about.

Do I need to install Apache & PHP on their own because they seem to install automatically under the FirstSpot folder.

I am using the separate folders eg c:\php

You need to uninstall Apache and PHP before installing FirstSpot. FirstSpot comes with its own Apache and PHP.
