I want that people that pay with paypal go directly to the initial url they have requested.
Today they go back to the shopping cart because that's i've put in "success return path" (cart.php)
Is it possible to put redirect.php instead of cart.php ?
thanks |

The closest solution to your trick is to put login_form.php instead of cart.php in the "success return path". Users who pay with paypal will be redirected to the initial url after logging in.

when an existing user logs in and has no time left that user is redirected to the shopping cart, they select a plan, then redirected to PayPal, the user pays, on the PayPal payment confirmation page there is a "Return to Merchant Page" button - no automatic redirect. After clicking the "Return to Merchant Page" the user is redirected to the FS Home screen(login screen) and prompted to login again. After loging in again the "Please wait while being redirected to the original URL" page is shown -- then after a short wait the default "Page Cannot be Displayed" page comes up. The user can click their HOME button or manually type in a public URL and they go to that page.
What am I missing between PayPal payment and being redirected to a functional page. |

Your QUESTION: "what URL is in the address bar when you get the "Page Cannot be Displayed" error?"
My ANSWER: http://mypublicFirewallIPaddress/cart.php?:5788 |

Jason,
Return path is: http://my_server_public_address:5788/cart.php.
Your question:
What was the initial URL that the user put in before he/she got this http://mypublicFirewallIPaddress/cart.php?:5788 error?
Answer: the user is in the PayPal payment confirmation page and clicks the "Return to Merchant" button. This takes the user back to the FS login screen not cart.php.
Do I need to modify my paypal account confirguration so my users don't get the "Return to Merchant" button after they pay -- I don't even know if I have that option in Paypal. |

The result is the same. After clicking the "Return to Merchant" button in the Paypal interface the user get sent back the the FS login screen as if to be prompted to login in again. After loging in again the "Please wait while being redirected to the original URL" page is shown -- then after a short wait the default "Page Cannot be Displayed" page comes up. The user can click their HOME button or manually type in a public URL and they go to that page.
The URL in the address bar when the user gets the "Page Cannot be Displayed" error is http://your_server_public_address:5788/login_form.php. This is also the address in the "Success return path". |

So, the "success return path" would be:
http://10.20.7.1:5788/login_form.php
If so is the format for the "failure return path" the same? |

answer: yes, if your server private ip is 10.20.7.1
If so is the format for the "failure return path" the same?
answer: you might want to put http://10.20.7.1:5788/cart.php, so that the client will be redirected back to the shopping cart if the transaction fails. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

That worked. I was using my server's public address for the success and failure paths. Thanks for you help and patience.
