Post subject: Radius support

We want to use the firstspot gateway and authenticate via a Novell Border Manager Radius server. However, the readme only lists Microsoft IAS and Funk Steel Belted Radius as supported. Is it worth trying a simple implementation with a non-supported radius server or are we likely to have problems.

RADIUS protocol is quite loosely defined so FirstSpot probably won't work with Novell Border Manager Radius server.

I suggest you to use Microsoft IAS or Funk as RADIUS proxy to your Novell Border Manager Radius server. Keep in mind that IAS is free and it comes bundle with Windows Server OS.

Feel free to give us feedback on the result of your test.
