Post subject: FirstSpot for Intranet access

We would like to use FirstSpot at a conference center to act as a gateway to a private Intranet. We are testing the trial version and it is authenticating properly through our radius server but there are still a couple of issues to work out before we can implement...

The public side of FS is connected to our private Intranet which it will control access to. The private side is on a network switch with a few wireless access points and it will also have an unrestricted Internet connection.

Can FS allow access to the Intranet for users who authenticate successfully but still allow access to the Internet for users who do not authenticate or authenticate with an Internet only username?

Also, if users are not authenticated will they be able to pass any non HTTP traffic (telnet, FTP, pop3, pings...) through the First Spot? We want all traffic to our Intranet blocked unless authenticated.

Can this be made to work as we require?

Please check out http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=777 .

We will like to incorporate your requirements in FirstSpot. Does the above suggestion sound okay for you?
